Cosmetic dentistry is, as the name implies, a group of procedures designed to improve the look of your smile. As with all procedures, there are benefits and risks, and it is important to discuss each procedure, cost, and maintenance with our staff. You are responsible for consulting your insurance company regarding coverage of cosmetic procedures.

Extensive orthodontic procedures for straightening teeth are generally done by an orthodontist. For some patients, Invisalign® or Six Month Smiles® clear braces may be used for teens or adults to straighten the teeth in an average of six months to one year.

Your dentist can evaluate your smile to see if you are a good candidate for these types of braces. If so, you may want to discuss cost and check with your dental insurance provider to determine out-of-pocket costs before beginning.
Once ready, your dentist will take x-rays, images, and impressions of your teeth for Invisalign or Six Month Smiles to use to create the aligners. They look like mouth guards or retainers, though barely visible, and are created to gradually shift teeth into place over a shorter period of time than regular braces. Aligners must be worn at all times, except when eating, for the best, fastest results.

The patient is provided with several sets of aligners. Approximately every two weeks, the patient will move to the next set of aligners to continue moving the teeth to the desired positions. Your dentist will schedule regular visits to monitor the results.
